Bonjour Air France!

DAY 1: THE BIRD WITH THE METAL TAIL – AIR FRANCE

It was late afternoon when we arrived at the Montreal Trudeau airport. The swarm of families, friends and strangers that crowded the airport was overwhelming, however, the thought of heading off to sunny Europe for two weeks took everything else off my mind. I have never really liked to travel by air because of the inconveniences such as delays, cancellations, the worst of all my problems, motion sickness. Taking Air France from Montreal Trudeau to Paris Charles de Gaulles wasn’t half bad. Despite the overwhelming amount of people on board, we each were provided with our own cosy burgundy-coloured pillows and blankets. The seats were also quite soft and the spongy carpet below my large feet really made it feel like we were floating upon a large cloud of cotton candy. Obviously, the usual smell of airplane food was swiftly carried throughout the entire aircraft even before takeoff. Upon departure everyone sat still. The only thing heard was the sound of the engines roaring quickly through the cold air and the occasional cry from the baby sitting nearby. During the flight we were served the usual beverages and an excellent meal- I was impressed. The small, dainty bag of Bits & Bites that are usually given to passengers onboard American Airlines which hardly fill one tenth of my stomach did not and could never compare to what I ate on Air France. Instead, a lovely salmon salad, pasta, a desert and a Panini roll were provided. At a later instance, after everyone took their four hour nap, breakfast was served. Again, I was extremely impressed. I can still taste the delicious chocolaty croissant that melted in my mouth-it was sensational! Upon our arrival we thanked the lovely flight staff. Unfortunately, as I was one of the last seats on the plane, there was a large slew of people that had priority, but this didn’t matter, after all, I was now in Paris!
